Return to School Following Travel

Return to School Following Travel:

March 22, 2021

As of March 22, 2021 the Massachusetts COVID-10 Travel Order has transitioned to the Massachusetts COVID-19 Travel Advisory.  All Sippican families traveling outside of Massachusetts are advised to follow the Massachusetts COVID-19 Travel Advisory following return from travel and prior to re-entry into school. Please visit the travel advisory link prior to and following all travel to view any updates.

The COVID-19 Travel Advisory can be viewed here:

As of 3/22/2021: All household members who traveled together are advised to follow the quarantine or testing option prior to return to school following travel

Here are some important pieces of information from the advisory:

  1. If a COVID 19 test was obtained prior to your arrival home but the result has not come back yet, the travelers should continue to quarantine until the negative test results are received.
  2. If a rapid test is done (antigen test), it must be confirmed by a PCR test (molecular test) unless it is the BinaxNOW antigen test.
  3. Antibody testing (serology testing) will not be accepted.

For free testing sites please visit this link (choose New Bedford or Fall River for testing sites closest to Marion):

COVID-19 symptoms can take up to 14 days to present.  If any student who traveled is exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, that individual must stay home and obtain a COVID-19 test. Please consider keeping all family members who traveled together home until a COVID-19 test is obtained and results have been received.  Please communicate this information to the school nurse.

We will continue to do our best to keep the school community safe and we rely on the communication from our parents and guardians to do so.  We appreciate all the support we have received thus far to promote student and staff safety.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Take care and safe travels,

Meagan Morais BSN, RN
