    Please see the following return to school criteria for your child:

    • If your child has been directly exposed to COVID outside of school please refer to the protocols link below (page 4: Close contacts who are exempt from testing and quarantine response protocols).  Please reach back out to the school nurse if your child must quarantine.

    • If your child DOES NOT have to quarantine, your child can return to school once they are: fever free for 24 hours, vomiting and or diarrhea free for 24 hours, and their other symptoms have greatly improved. Best practice would be wearing a mask until symptoms have completely resolved.

    • Return to school post-symptoms with optional test: It is strongly recommended that individuals receive a negative PCR or antigen test result for COVID-19.  The following list applies regardless of vaccination status:

    Below is the full list of symptoms for which caregivers should monitor their children:

    COVID-19 symptoms list: 

    • Fever (100.0° Fahrenheit or higher), chills, or shaking chills
    • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
    • New loss of taste or smell
    • Muscle aches or body aches
    • ***Cough (not due to other known cause, such as chronic cough)
    • Sore throat, when in combination with other symptoms
    • Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea when in combination with other symptoms  *Please note if your child has vomiting or diarrhea they must stay home even if other symptoms are not present as this can be indicative of another contagious illness. This is an ORR Health Office Policy.
    • Headache when in combination with other symptoms
    • Fatigue, when in combination with other symptoms
    • Nasal congestion or runny nose (not due to other known causes, such as allergies) when in combination with other symptom
