    AFS / ORR Cultural Club

    Club Description: The AFS/ORR Cultural Club works to promote the work of AFS International: working towards a more just and peaceful world. We do this by creating intercultural learning opportunities for students of ORRHS. This club offers support and friendship to international students attending our high school. Our club is open for all that wish to participate.

    OREO / Environmental Club

    Advisor:  Ms. Lynn Connor

    Meeting Time:  Thursdays after school, Room 304

    Club Description:  

    Each year OREO chooses an environmentally sensitive connected project and also works on the memorial garden, recycling, fundraising, campus cleanups,tree identification, trail maintenance. We try to attend Bioneers By the Bay in October by the Bay and also the Massachusetts Envirothon. The Environmental Club is open to all students. The club provides students with the opportunity to initiate and assist in projects related to environmental concerns locally and globally. Past projects have included recycling, blueberry field restoration, Land Trust clean-up, Memorial garden-building and maintenance, and campus clean-ups. We also have had Earth Day concerts on campus. 

    The club is looking to expand its goals and participation in the community.

    Club Description:

    The mission of Science Club is to provide an opportunity for students interested in 

    Science and Engineering to explore and create without the constraints of a curriculum of 
    any sort.  Student-generated ideas are kicked around and researched before being 
    implemented.  Failed prototypes are celebrated, tweaked, and tried again.  Projects last 
    until they're finished. Examples include:  Ruben's tube, pinhole camera, hovercraft, 
    various combustion reactions, and general tomfoolery.

    Yearbook Club

    Advisor:  Ms. Alison Guard

    Meeting Time:  Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:15-3:30

    Club Description:  

    The mission of the Yearbook Club is to convey the school spirit of ORRHS and to preserve 
    the history of the school in the pages of the yearbook. Students are responsible for page 
    layout and design and organizing images taken by the school photographer and class 
    photographers. Yearbook club members will promote on line sales using marketing tools 
    provided by the yearbook publishing company. We encourage submission of photos and art pieces for publication from students outside the club as well as members of the ORR 
    community.  Yearbook club is required to meet deadlines with the publishing company 
    throughout the year to ensure timely delivery of the yearbooks in the spring. The 
    Yearbook club welcomes any student who is dedicated, responsible, hard working and 
    conscientious.
