School Choice
In early spring, the School Committee in each of the four districts holds a public hearing about School Choice. Please complete an application for the next school year.
Applications for the 2025-2026 school year may be submitted by completing this online form.
Please note transportation is the responsibility of the family/parent/guardian for school choice students.
OLD ROCHESTER REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT
The Old Rochester Regional School Committee met on March 27, 2025 and voted to participate in the School Choice Program for the 2025-2026 school year. The School Committee voted to maintain the maximum number of school choice slots of one hundred and twenty-five (125) students in grades 7th through 12th.
Further, school choice slots will be filled as follows:
7th grade with a cap of 15 (fifteen) new school choice students,
8th grade with a cap of 5 (five) new school choice students,
10th grade with a cap of 2 (two) new school students,
11th grade with no cap,
12th grade with no cap, and
9th grade with no cap.
The blind lottery was held on March 28, 2025 and a waitlist was formed. Addtional applications may be submitted and a second lottery will be held if the current waitlist is exhausted.
MATTAPOISETT SCHOOL DISTRICT The Mattapoisett School Committee voted on April 10, 2025 to particiapte in the School Choice Program for the 2025-2026 school year. The School Committee voted to maintain the maximum number of school choice slots of fourteen (14) students with open spots being filled in grades 5th and 6th only. A blind lottery was held on April 14, 2025 and a waitlist was formed. Addtional applications may be submitted and a second lottery will be held if the current waitlist is exhausted.
Marion School District (grades K-6) and Rochester School District (grades K-6) elected not to participate in school choice for the 2025-2026 school year.
