PowerSchool is the student information system utilized across our schools for managing grades, attendance, discipline and other student data by administrators and staff. Families have access to PowerSchool to review student data, update important information and more. 

GoGuardian is content filtering technology in compliance with the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in all of our devices for classroom management, web filtering, harm prevention and reporting to protect students from harmful online content and identify those in need of support. 

All of our schools continue to use Google Workspace for Education. As part of our use of Google Workspace for Education, students may also have access to Google's Additional Services (such as YouTube, Google Maps, Google Earth, and Google Translate) for educational purposes under school supervision. Our districts are part of TEC (The Education Cooperative), a group that helps schools make safe and smart choices about educational technology, especially when it comes to protecting student privacy.

This list of digital tools approved by the district that students may use to learn, create, or collaborate online. These tools require students to log in, and their use follows strict privacy and safety guidelines.

Each tool on this list has been carefully reviewed by the district to ensure it supports learning goals and meets data privacy standards. We prioritize tools that protect student information and provide a safe, secure online environment.

The Education Collaborative's (TEC) Student Data Privacy Alliance

As part of our commitment to protecting student data, our districts utilize TEC’s Student Data Privacy Alliance (SDPA) administrative and legal support to negotiate privacy terms with our software vendors.

TEC’s service was launched in 2017 in cooperation with the Student Data Privacy Consortium, TEC developed a statewide Data Privacy Agreement (DPA) that now spans 5 states: MA, NH, RI, ME, and VT. These legally enforceable documents articulate a vendor’s responsibilities and the duties required to protect student data in compliance with all applicable federal and state privacy statutes, including FERPA, PPRA, COPPA. TEC services over 240 school districts in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Maine, and Vermont with expert legal counsel and experienced contract administrators. To date, they have achieved over 1700 signed vendor agreements.

Our districts provide students with Acer Chromebooks and Samsung Chromebooks. We chosen School Device Coverage (SDC) to insure the devices that will be given to your student as part of this year's 1:1 device program. Insurance is a one-time charge for the entire school year. This insurance program will protect you in the event that your device is lost, stolen, or damaged accidentally. Public schools receiving federal funding must adhere to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. These laws mandate effective communication for individuals with disabilities, creating an equivalent to communication with those without disabilities.

• ADA Title II sets specific technical standards for requiring public entities (public schools) to make their digital content readily accessible. This means schools must proactively audit and remediate their websites and their digital content to meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.
• The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1 Level AA) provides internationally recognized standards for web accessibility. 
• Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act applies to federal agencies and any entities receiving federal funds, including public schools. It requires that electronic and information technology be accessible to employees and members of the public with disabilities.
