Return to School Guidelines Following Illness
Below is the full list of symptoms for which caregivers should monitor their children:
- Fever (100.0° Fahrenheit or higher), chills, or shaking chills
*Please note a student must be 24 hours fever free to return to school. - Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
- New loss of taste or smell
- Muscle aches or body aches
***Cough (not due to other known cause, such as chronic cough) - Sore throat, when in combination with other symptoms
- Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea when in combination with other symptoms *Please note if your child has vomiting or diarrhea they must stay home until these symptoms have resolved for a full 24 hours; if other symptoms are not present as this can be indicative of another contagious illness.
- Headache when in combination with other symptoms
- Fatigue, when in combination with other symptoms
- Nasal congestion or runny nose (not due to other known causes, such as allergies) when in combination with other symptoms
- Return to School timeline for an individual testing positive for COVID
