PHYSICAL EDUCATION
GRADUATION REQUIREMENT
* Physical Education is based on the development of the mind and the body. Educational objectives are reached through participation in mental and physical activity. In Physical Education class students build their knowledge and level of physical fitness, explore and learn a wide variety of muscular skills, and develop responsible social behaviors that promote personal and group success.
GRADING
DAILY = 20% prepared for class-dressed
60% participates throughout the class
20% participates in warm ups
100% class grade
TERM = 70% daily grade
30% tests
100% term grade
A = absent/ medical (must be made up by completing paper work ( packets)
Physical Education is an activity class that requires active, positive participation. Students in class are expected to dress daily and perform the activities to the best of their ability.
DRESS
Sneakers
Shorts or Sweatpants
Short Sleeve or Long Sleeve Shirt
Students will be given a locker and a lock to use.
It is the student’s responsibility to lock and secure all belongings.
MEDICAL EXCUSES
NOT PREPARED
These students will have to walk or do a written assignment due at the end of class (packet).
ABSENCES
It is the student’s responsibility to make up absences before the term ends
Make-ups are made on the students own time.. Absences not made up will be recorded as a 0.
BEHAVIOR
Active and cooperative participation is critical for a student to be successful. Without quality participation it is impossible to pass Physical Education Class. It is expected that all students will conduct themselves in a safe and respectful manner.
Consequences for poor choices including inappropriate language or abuse of equipment will result in a lowered grade, detention, or removal from the class
STUDENT ACCOUNTABILITY FORMAT
LOCKER ROOM:
All students will be in the locker room before the tardy bell rings.
After dressing into P.E. clothes, students will go immediately to roll call.
Students must secure all belonging in their locker.SHOWERS:
Optional for all students.
